Another proud achievement has been made by a student of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University. Wahyu Budi Utomo, a student of the Physics Study Program, successfully earned prestigious awards at the International Youth Excursion Network (IYEN) Batch 16 Year 2025, held on August 18–21, 2025, at the International Youth Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In this international forum, Wahyu won three awards at once, namely 1st Best Video Innovation, Top Delegate, and the Fully Funded Program International Youth Excursion Network. This remarkable achievement is a testament to UNDIP students’ contribution in addressing global issues while strengthening the university’s position on the international stage.
Throughout the program, international delegates took part in presentations, competitions, and visits to leading educational institutions such as Universiti Malaya and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Participants were also invited to explore cultural, educational, and tourism destinations in and around Kuala Lumpur to enrich their cross-cultural perspectives.
On this occasion, Wahyu presented a digital innovation in the field of environment with a focus on renewable energy issues. The idea was born from his concern for the global energy transition and environmental challenges. His work received high appreciation from the judges for offering innovative solutions that align with the world’s sustainability agenda.
The International Youth Excursion Network (IYEN) is an international youth exchange program that brings together young people from various countries to discuss, collaborate, and compete in creating solutions to global issues, ranging from economy, environment, education, and health to sustainable development (SDGs). This program also serves as an important platform for students to expand their international networks and foster awareness of global challenges.
Wahyu’s achievement highlights the active role of FSM UNDIP Physics students in making real contributions to sustainability and environmental issues. This success not only brings honor to Diponegoro University but also proves that Indonesian students are capable of competing and creating a positive impact on the international stage.
